2 Timothy 3;16-17

Profitable - beneficial or useful
Doctrine - a particular principle, position or policy
Reproof - to express a sharp, stern disapproval
Correction -punishment intended to reform, improve, or rehabilitate
Instruction - the act of teaching; imparting knowledge or information

Power Points

The Word is beneficial.

The Word is designed to help us understand God's principles.

The Word expresses disapproval of certain behaviors as well as punishment to make us improve.

The Word imparts knowledge and information.

The Word makes us complete and equips us for every good work.

Good Soldier

2 Timothy 2:3

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

There will definitely be hardships in your life.

But you must endure.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The definition alone makes faith a challenge.

It is difficult to believe what you can't see.

Obstacles always stand in the way of the development of faith because it is such an abstract concept.

But the benefits of faith lead to an eternal life with God.

Stay Focused

1 Timothy 6:7,11
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
11 Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

Power Points

We came with nothing and we will leave with nothing.

We were not purposed on this earth to obtain material possessions or to become obsessed with these things.

We should not be in such a pursuit of material things that we fall into temptation and a snare.

The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (verse 10).

We should pursue God, righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

When we seek God's kingdom and righteousness first, things will be added to us.

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, he will give us the desires of our heart.

We must remain focused on chasing after God and not chasing after things.

Keep the Testimony

Psalm 119:88
Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, so that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.

Meditate

1 Timothy 4:15
Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

Meditate -to engage in contemplation
Contemplation -thoughtful observation; full or deep consieration

According to verse 13 "these things" refer to giving attention to reading, to exhoration, and to doctrine.

We need to give deep consideration for these things so that our progress is evident.

God wants his glory to be revealed through us in the earth.

Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Comfort

Psalm 119:49-50

Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.

As the test and trials of life appear to drain the very life from our bodies and cause us to want to give up, the word of God gives us hope and life.

If you feel like giving up on life and throwing in the towel, let the words of God comfort you and love you back to life.

God Makes Us Over

Jeremiah 18:4

Sin causes us to be marred(damaged, less useful to God).

But because of God's love, care, concern, grace and mercy, he does not leave us in that state.

God has allowed you to go through many trials and tribulations.

One reason is to give you the ability to declare His works to the world.

We overcome by the words of our testimony.

When God's people, stand up in the face of Satan and say how our Lord, in the midst of trials, pain, and heartache, showed Himself strong on our behalf we overcome over the enemy.

Satan wants us to sit around feeling sad and sorry for ourselves.

But God wants us to stand and share how great He is!

In the familiar story of the Hebrews boys, King Nebuchadnezzar commanded the them to serve and worship his gods. But they refused.

Then the king had them tied up and thrown into the fiery furnance.

Then God delivered them.

Then the king promoted the Hebrew boys.

Even if it looks like you are losing, keep serving the one and only true God and you will be promoted.

When tied up by the circumstances and situations of life and cast into the fiery trials and tribulations...YOU STILL WIN!

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Power Points

The word that remains the same in all translations is the word "righteous."

As Christians, righteous refers to being in right standing with God. We are declared righteous because of our position in Jesus Christ.

Righteous also refers to our conduct. Righteous means to act in an upright, moral way.

When we obey God commands, we act in an upright, moral way.

To be called "righteous" we must be found in Christ and make it a habit to obey God.

Your prayers will be effective, powerful, dynamic and produce wonderful results!
