There's Good News.......There's Bad News......More Good News!

Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness,
which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of
Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith

Righteous- always behaving according to a religious or moral code; considered to be correct or justifiable

The Good News
Because of our faith in God and Jesus Christ, we are considered righteous in the sight of God. That's Good News!

This means that our prayers avialeth much (James 5:16). That's Good News!

We are joint-heirs with Christ(Romans 8:17). That's Good News!

Although we are sinful by nature and we are sinners (Romans 3:23), when God looks at us he sees the blood of Jesus covering us. That's Good News!

Note: Being considered righteous does not give us the right to freely or purposefully sin. Being considered righteous humbles us and reminds us of the great love God has for us. Because He loves and forgives us so, we are motivated and inspired to live holy before Him and man.

Psalm 34:19a
Many are the afflictions of the righteous:

Affliction- mental suffering caused by grief, anxiety, or unhappiness; hardship or problems caused by a lack of basic necessities; great danger or difficulty with a need for immediate assistance

The Bad News
Those of us, who are righteous, will suffer grief, anxiety, unhappiness, hardship, great danger, or need for immediate assistance. Even though we are considered righteous, we will still suffer. Here's the part that is really hard for me: We will not only suffer with one thing or in one area, but we will suffer many afflictions.

Real Talk: In my mind, I just don't feel like if my son has been diagnosed with a terminal illness that I should have to suffer with lack, depression, marital problems, loneliness, car problems, overdue bills, pregnancy (because it was in the midst of the situation), insecurities, or any other afflictions. However as the old saying goes when it rains it pours. I don't feel that it should be that way. I think we should be given the opportunity to learn, monitor, and adjust from one affliction before having another thrust upon us. Well through my "Tevin Experience" I learned that how I think God should deal with us doesn't matter. I found out that Tamika was not in control. God is in control of everything. He allows all things to happen for a reason. I just had to remember that all things work together for good to those who love Him.

More Good News

Psalm 34:19b
but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
No matter how many afflictions come our way or what the afflictions are God will deliver us from the ALL! You will be saved from them ALL! If you are in the middle of affliction right now it may be hard for you to see this. But if you reflect back over your life, you will see that it is so true. God will deliver you from ALL your troubles. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!
