Faith: Layaway Payments

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Believe - to accept that something is true or real; to accept that somebody is telling the truth; to accept that somebody or something has a particular quality or ability; to be of the opinion that something exists or is a reality, especially when there is no absolute proof of its existence or reality; to be confident that somebody or something is worthwhile or effective; to be of the opinion that something is right or beneficial and, usually, to act in accordance with that belief

Diligent - showing persistent and hard-working effort in doing something

We must accept the reality that God is... We must have the opinion that He is beneficial and act like we believe. This verse also tells of God's thoughts towards us. He wants to reward us. A reward is an after effect. After we have prayed, after we have endured the trial, after we have diligently sought Him, after we have done the will of God, we will get a reward. That is good news. Please know that our works are not done in vain. God sees what we face and He rewards us when we have faith in Him and do his will concerning the situation. Believe that God is exactly who He says He is and will do exactly what he says He will do. Persistently look for Him and you will see His awesomeness. When you see His glory in your life, praise Him in the beauty of holiness. Worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Layaway Analogy
Although your receipt (faith) identifies the your claim, you are expected to make payments until the set time for you to obtain the item. Payments are simply the action put forth towards what you believe you will receive. In faith we are not expected to "make payments" while we are waiting on the set time. But we are expected to pray, believe, speak it, live right, love right, give much, praise and worship Him. We are expected to put forth actions toward what we believe.

Have you made any "payments" lately on what you are believing and expecting God to do in your life?
